The very first TAANS Frolic is officially in the books, and what an event it was!
30+ archers trekked out to Pleasant Valley to take on the inaugural “To The Woods BHC” Bowhunter Challenge.
For many of us who haven’t tried bow‑hunting before, it was a fantastic peek into the sport. The scoring was kept simple: every hit inside the kill zone earned a “K” for kill; a miss earned an “M” for miss. At the end of the day the hits were tallied, the kill‑efficiency was converted into a neat percentage, and each participant received a certificate to take home.
It was fresh, exciting, and the crowd loved it. The highlight? A thrilling “Tonnie” shoot‑off, where Jim Dauphinee emerged as the proud winner—congratulations, Jim!
The weather couldn’t have been better, and the host must have politely asked the bugs and mosquitoes to stay away—most of them obeyed, at least!
The day closed with prize drawings, friendly chatter, and plenty of laughter under the canopy.
A massive thank‑you to Travis McLeod, Rebecca Moore, and the entire behind‑the‑scenes crew—you made this day unforgettable.
